Hippity Hoppity

Easter's on its way......
MGC and the Biggest Bunny Ever
Matthew got to spend last weekend in Alabama. He got to see a lot of family that he hadn't seen since Christmas, great-grandparents, aunts, cousins, a big crowd. He loved messing with Cowboy's hat, and even got to see his Cousin Amanda for the first time!
His Cousin Campbell Ann had fun playing but was sad when she and her Mama had to leave.
Everybody took turns playin' with Matthew and getting tired out. The weather wasn't quite right for fishing or walking in the woods, maybe next time. Even though his activities were mostly indoors, all that excitement eventually wore Matthew out too.

Little Change

Matthew went to the doctor today, again.
And he got two vaccine shots, again.
Despite all the cereal, fruits, and vegetables, Matthew has gained less than a pound in a month. He is a svelt 20 lbs, 4 oz and is the same height he was last month measuring just shy of 28". The doctor said that the boy checked out just fine.
Now that the weather is getting warmer Matthew seems happier when he is not wearing clothes.

6 Months Plus

Matthew turned six months old Thursday. There was even a cake to celebrate the occasion.
Chocolate cake
Matthew couldn't eat the cake, but he got to sample a little of the icing thanks to his Mama.

Saturday afternoon Matthew made a trip to South Carolina to see the family. There was a house full of people all waiting to see him.
He wants to play with every animal he sees. Aunt Devin was making sure that the dog was nice to Matthew and Mark was trying to make sure that Matthew was nice to the dog.
Aunt Devin does a good job of making Matthew laugh and show his dimples. Matthew is also good at keeping secrets. Devin had no idea when this picture was taken Saturday evening that she would have such a big day Sunday.

Happy Saint Patty's

Matthew was appropriately dressed in his green shirt for St. Patrick's Day. His mama thinks that he is cute enough that he still probably got pinched today.
Where's me pot o' gold?
Playing with his Green tractor. He likes to chew on the animals in the cart.
What is Sadie the cat doing?
She just wanted to rub the lucky charm.
Matthew is still learning to "play nice". He ended up with a handful of cat hair. This year his Irish nickname is Grabby McGrabberson.

Cart before Horse

From the time that Matthew was very young, he could extend his legs with surprising force. Since then, Matthew will do whatever he can to stand up. Recently Matthew has mastered the ability to sit up on his own. However, his attempts to crawl look something like this.
He's Ready
 He's Set
Just can't figure out how to GO!
But when it comes to standing up, he looks like this
Hanging on
Look at me
After a fall, and ready to get back up again.
Now Matthew isn't strong enough to pull himself up, or balanced enough to stand on his own for long. But evidently, the term "you have to crawl before you can walk", might not apply to Matthew Garrett Campbell.

Little Piggy

The recent rains have kept Matthew from spending much time outside or even enjoying Georgia softball games. While he is inside, Matthew still likes playing with his toys, but all that playing wears him out. Of course he needs to sleep to re-energize, but his preferred method of boosting his batteries takes place in the high chair.

Barn Yard

Although it was a gift from Santa, Matthew has just started playing with his barn-yard playset the past couple of days. It makes noises and lights up (thanks to a lot of batteries). The barn is a lot of fun and even sings songs. However, when Matthew is sleeping, it is easy to forget to flip the switch off so that pigs and chickens don't start making their respective racket.

High Life

Matthew had an excellent weekend. He got to enjoy the nice weather Sunday afternoon and watch the University of Georgia softball team play. This time he even let his parents go to the game with him. The Dawgs pitched a no-hitter and easily won 8-0. After the game, he was being passed around by not only the family of the coaches, but by the softball players themselves. It was obvious that many of the players had met Matthew before Sunday's game, and he received numerous compliments on his official Georgia gear.
After the game, Matthew had worked up an appetite. He likes his new high chair.
He's eating fruit baby food now. First applesauce, then bananas, and Sunday night was his first experience with pears.
Matthew also likes grabbing his toes.
And sometimes holding the bottle himself, which is very helpful.

Little Helper

There is always a lot of work to be done around the house. Matthew has increased that work load exponentially. Lately, however, Matthew is trying to help by doing his part. Such as help with laundry.
Hello Mr. Laundry Basket
Did anybody see that?
Let me do it again.
Matthew also helps pick up his toys
Look, toys are everywhere.

Snotty

Matthew has been under the weather the past few days. Which has been especially tough because the weather in Watkinsville has included snow, again. Other than displaying the symptoms listed on a bottle of NyQuil, Matthew has been playing hard.

Checking out the camera
Sadie has learned to stay out of Matthew's reach.
Hopefully both Matthew's health and the weather will improve in the coming week.
