What's up Doc?

Matthew made a quick trip to see the pediatrician this morning. Thankfully, it wasn't because he was sick, he was just scheduled for an immunization and flu shot. The scales showed that Matthew Garrett has gained less than half a pound since his last visit. He is now up to 25 lbs, 7 oz and is 30 inches tall; both of which are close to average. Although, his cranium circumference is still nearly off the top of the charts (thanks dad).
The doc also had some suggestions of items that his parents could begin adding to Matthew's diet. Even though he has his favorites, the boy has eaten just about anything put in front of him at this point. Dr. E also confirmed that Matthew should keep drinking whole milk (the good stuff) and not switch to 2% anytime soon.
Matthew is still calling these "dog-dogs".Maybe he can work on that while he is in Alabama.

Bandit

Danielle bought Matthew a fine black cowboy hat from Sheplers.
The only problem is that Matthew doesn't like to keep anything on his head for very long.
If there was a Rodeo competition to keep your hat on your head for 8 seconds, Matthew would lose every time.
Matthew's also pretty good at hiding things; in his hands, behind a pillow, under a blanket, anywhere.
Recently he's gotten fond of raiding the 'fridge, grabbing what he can, and taking off. That's Caesar salad dressing, he's trying to get the top off before it gets taken away.
Just keeping everybody on their toes....

First Year Birthday Party!

Matthew was blessed to have an abundance of family and friends at his house Saturday afternoon to celebrate his first birthday. The party had a John Deere tractor theme, but the real emphasis was on fun! Matthew had friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, grand parents, and great-grandparents that made the trip to come help him celebrate.
Ready to entertain his guests
Friends Will Lawson and Cooper Murphy came to party and play.
Matthew got to play with some presents immediately like his swing, wagon.....
...and four-wheeler
The cake says it all
Matthew had the final word on the cake

Thanks to everyone for all the many gifts and for helping to make great memories on Matthew's special day!

Football Ready

Matthew had not yet made his appearance by the start of football season last year. But this year, he is more than ready. Matthew has even grown into his Georgia jersey.
